Brent has 20 years of experience assisting clients with their personal and business taxes, increasing business revenues, reducing business expenses, and increasing profits. He also incorporates financial planning and works with individuals to achieve their personal and business goals. 

Early in his career, Brent worked for several small and medium sized CPA firms and decided to start practicing on his own in 2003. He formalized his firm Brent R. King, CPA, PLLC in 2006 and continued to expand his practice. 

In 2016, Brent joined the Kentucky Department of Revenue as the Executive Director of the Office of Field Operations where he oversaw a team of up to 180 staff, including ten offices of field auditors. As Executive Director, he was responsible for thousands of audits- income tax, corporate income tax, sales tax, and property tax. He was extensively involved with all elements of the audit process.  Brent has also performed and overseen the appeal process for fuel tax audits that are filed by truckers and trucking companies. (KYU, KIT, IFTA, and IRP).   

Brent has presented before Kentucky Society of CPA’s tax conferences, the Kentucky Chapter of the National Association of Tax Professionals, and has led dozens of trainings for tax auditors over the years. 

As a former band director in the Woodford County and Tift County (Georgia) school systems, Brent has the heart of a teacher. With this teaching expertise, Brent can guide you through the complex and ever-evolving tax and business climate.
